All foreign visitors to India need a visa. This must be obtained prior to your departure since India does NOT issue VISA on arrival.
For Foreign passport holders only : in addition to a regular Indian VISA, a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) is required for the Andaman Islands. Whether you are arriving by flight or by ship, you can obtain this permit on arrival for no additional cost. (Although you can also get this permit when you apply for the VISA in your country, it will be faster if you will get this permit on arrival)
On arrival, you will be asked to fill out a form with your personal details. The permit will be issued for a maximum of 30 days but can be extended to 45 days if a suitable reason exists. To avoid any unnecessary problems in case of changes in your return travel date, we suggest you to fill on your form that you will be staying for the entire 30 days |
