It is quite easy to go to the pier in Tarakan. There are several major international airports in Indonesia where will be the connecting point between international and domestic airlines. For examples, you can fly from your country to Jakarta airport (CGK), Surabaya (SUB), Balikpapan (BPN), and then, connect the domestic flight from those airport to Tarakan airport (TRK). In addition, you can take the ferry from Tawau (Malaysia) to Tarakan pier.

For divers who need to have VISA to entry to Indonesia and will come to Tarakan by Ferry, they should request VISA from their country before flying to Tawau since the Tarakan Port is only Immigration Check point, they cannnot process the VISA on arrival. |
